Subject: [AISLE-Share] Metal Shelving for Middle School Library

Hello!

I am looking at replacing the original shelving in my middle school library. The proposed design includes metal shelving on the perimeter of the room. Does anyone have experience with both wood and metal shelving, and can speak to the difference in noise level? My students visit the library as a whole class, so we often have 25 students at a time browsing for books. Has anyone switched from wood to metal shelving and noticed a considerable difference in noise?

Thanks for your help!
