Library in our school is a special and covers teacher prep time. I see K-6
every day for 25 minutes. I do lessons as often as I can-teaching library
skills, parts of book, genre, research skills, etc. in addition to having
students check out/in books and doing read-alouds. I do not grade but
hoping to change that with 6th grade next semester. Especially when I had
a student on Monday make the comment "Why do I need to do this - I don't
get a grade for it". I am hoping to give participation points for that
class.

I started here this past February as the school's certified librarian
(first one they have had in 20 years). In addition to teaching classes, I
do all the cataloging, shelving, etc. since I have no aide. This has been
a learning experience for me and I'm so happy to be here!
