Just wanted to update you on our author visit with Michael Wayne...

He presented last week to our PK and K students in two groups of about 50 each. Each presentation was shortened to about 30 minutes to fit into our schedule. The students and teachers really enjoyed the presentation. The author spoke about the writing process, read books, and had a snowman drawing activity. The interactive style of the read-alouds was a big hit with our students!

We also had author Jennifer Ward in to speak with K-4. The grades were split into three presentations, with 30 minutes for K, and 45 minutes for 1 & 2, and 3 & 4. She was wonderful! Her presentation included lots of wildlife photos, which kept the students engaged. A few of her books are based on songs, and she sang the text to the kindergarteners.

Feel free to contact me with any questions.

He is from Yorkville (Where my school is. I am a K-3 building) and he is scheduled to come at the end of November. So far he has been super easy to work with and sent just the other day all 3 books and teacher resources, as well as flyers and order forms for his books to start getting kids ready for his visit. I can let you know how it goes! So far the kids are excited and love the books!

Good Morning!

Has anyone hosted Michael Wayne for an author visit? He is an Illinois author that I learned about from a direct mailing. He offers free visits to schools, but will send order forms for students to purchase books. He has written three picture books: Snowman vs. You, Snowman vs. ABC & You, and Snowman vs. Your Scary Face.

Thanks for any insight!
