[AISLE-Share] Reading and Literacy Ideas

[Email list for the Association of Illinois School Library Educators]

I do several things constantly to promote reading: I post 2 New Books on
our website each week (one fiction, one nonfiction); in the signature on my
school email I put what book I'm currently reading; I run a book club and
post flyers around the school for each meeting; and I promote the Lincoln
Award list by giving out Hero points (PBIS-style program) and hosting a
voting party with pizza!

Last year I tried doing signs of "What I'm currently reading" with myself
and teachers (went along with Teen Read Week), but not many teachers
participated.
