17 section 106
https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/17/106

Basically, uploading one recording for all to share violates Factor 4 of
Fair Use: Effect of use on market for or value of work. In other words, by
purchasing just one copy and making it available to all, the copyright
holder is being cheated out of potential sales.

The use is NOT covered under the TEACH Act either, because that Act
specifically prohibits scanning or uploading complete or long works.

For all school copyright questions, I HIGHLY recommend the book *Copyright
for Schools: A Practical Guide* by Carol Simpson. Invaluable resource!!!!
