[AISLE-Share] Dewey

[Email list for the Association of Illinois School Library Educators]

I haven't thought through what this is going to look like, but I know I want to help our 4th & 5th-grade teams with decimals. I am thinking we start out by discovering the patterns, ordering decimals, ultimately being able to independently use the catalog and easily locate the book. I still need to think the lessons through. Any ideas are welcomed.

I am interested in what other teacher librarians are doing with teaching the Dewey Decimal System.  I always teach it to 3rd using demco's Dewey Ducks and then add to in 4th grade with general to more specific.  What do other folks do?  Thanks!
