Because the list recommended Lily and Dunkin for grades 7-8, we did not include it in our Caudill program this year at our 4-6 buildings.

I think you have to know your school population. In my conservative area, I did not feel comfortable promoting it either (I have four years left of teaching and can do without a challenge). I have students who have read it and enjoyed it. The same with Better Nate Than Ever. I tell kids that no all books are for everyone, and promoting a particular title is just another extension of that.

Good morning,
I am having an issue that I don't know exactly how to address. I have a staff member that does not feel comfortable promoting Lily and Dunkin in our 5-6 building. I was wondering if anyone else is facing the same issue, and how you have dealt with it/what buildings you are putting Lily and Dunkin in. We absolutely have it in our junior high, and I have already put the book talk out for it.
Thanks,
Jill
