Wow that is low.
I serve a middle school. I have 1100 students. I receive a building budget line of $3500 and another $1800 from the district just for printed books. Plus I learned how to write grants to add another $7700 in books. The handshake deal I have with my principal is as long as I bring in more in grant money, he won’t cut my book budget.
Digital books are a different budget line that the district covers ($2500).
Sincerely,
Alan, Librarian serving Brooks Middle School

We are a school of 560, and I am fortunate to have the support of admin. I have a good print/digital book budget ($3500), a separate supply budget ($500), and annual approval of databases as part of the school tech budget. I have to say that sharing facility usage, database usage, and circulation numbers over the years with our administration and School Board has been beneficial to maintaining this budget. I recommend it.

I still get a budget for just books/e-books and a separate budget for supplies and databases.

If you are a high school librarian that still receives a budget for purchasing books, please reply to this post.
I know that some high schools are eliminating libraries with books - is it still called a library then?
I would like proof that while some schools are eliminating books in the library, there are still many high schools that still see the value of a library with books.
I hope to hear from many of you!!!!!!!!!
Thank you in advance
