[AISLE-Share] Library book drop

[Email list for the Association of Illinois School Library Educators]

Our school is pretty small-400 students-and so I use two fabric covered hard sided bins I found in the college / dorm section at Kohls--one is on a chair outside the entrance to the library so kids can return books easily during passing periods and the other sits on the circulation desk.  Our official book return piece for the circulation desk was lost during building renovations 10 years ago, so we've done this ever since. It's not fancy, but it works.

Do you all have "formal" book drops,  or do you use some other method? We
were "given" a hallway bookdrop slot in a new build. Nothing inside
library!  Hallway drops into back workroom. Not real convenient. Looking
for ideas for something inside.  Probably not going to let us cut a hole in
the new circ desk.  Going to use a cart for now. We use student helpers
every period and really don't want them back in work area to retrieve
books.  Suggestions?
