Hi Carrie,

The Chicago Tribune gives out free e-editions of the newspaper. You can also register for the Daily Herald and numerous other local newspapers. All you have to do is request a license for all your students. I have 1200 licenses! Here's the link: https://nieonline.com/chicago/order.cfm

Other than the Chicago Trib and Newsela, I recommend DogoNews<https://www.dogonews.com/>, Time for Kids<https://www.timeforkids.com/>, and TweenTribune<https://www.tweentribune.com/>.

Hello all!
My 8th grade social studies teacher has each of his students prepare a current event every Friday. In the past he has used a combination of digital and print resources. This year he only wants digital. Does anyone know where or how I can get FREE digital current events info? Chicago Tribune, for example, only allows 5 articles a month for free. Looking for resources for local, national, and international news. Wondering what's free for students...thanks! :)
