Subject: [aaslforum] Time sensitive request: still seeking internet filtering input from 13 states & the District of Columbia

Hi AASL members,

I'm a former Wisconsin school librarian and a past AASL president (2001). I am revising my 2014 essay on filtering in school libraries for the upcoming 10th edition of the ALA Intellectual Freedom Manual. To gain current information, I am contacting school librarians across the country to learn the current status of filtering in their schools and how it affects students' and teachers' information and instructional needs.
Please complete the filtering survey found here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1AYcJvkw_7MnzW8IB-awa1EsCAykjIyxw6DmJI6tlUxA/edit?usp=sharing

I have collected information from 37 states but am still looking for responses from school librarians in:

Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico,
North Carolina, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, and West Virginia.

I am also seeking input from school librarians in the District of Columbia.

The deadline for completing the survey is Wednesday, July 31.
Thank you to the over 300 school librarians who have already provided a snapshot of current filtering practices in their school libraries.
