For those of you looking over the summer to purchase devices for your students to use as e-readers next year, I feel like I need to share my experience with you so that you do NOT make the same mistake I did.

Do not purchase Barnes and Noble Nook Tablet 7’. There is no way to put parental controls on these devices so students have unlimited access to the internet, camera, etc. You can limit purchases from the B&N store, but that it it. This was a VERY expensive mistake I made. I purchased 6 of these and can’t use or return any of them.

Additionally, I would caution you from using B&N for any of your school needs. The hoops the company made me jump through just to try and get answers was ridiculous. I emailed countless times, called 3 times, spoke to 4 different people (two supervisors) and went into the store twice. NO help.

I worked with B&N for years with no issue, but this has been enough to turn me away from the company for good.

Hopefully, this email help inform any future school purchases.
