[aisle] Ingram Ordering Issues

Yeah, I have triple-checked my list to make sure I wasn't negligent about it and I absolutely have the hardcover on my list that I ordered. But, I was also told before that they don't exchange books, so if they thought I ordered the paperback (even though it hasn't shipped because of the pub date backorder) I figured they wouldn't just switch it for me. So I just asked to have them cancel it. I'm not sure where the ordering process went wrong this time, but it was certainly a strange situation that they didn't seem very eager to help me sort out.

Thanks for the reply,
Alison Kurtz

I switched to Ingram shortly after Baker and Taylor was bought by Follett, and in the past 2 years I haven't had any issues. My suggestion would be to print out your quote/list and look through it to make sure that the item descriptions are correct (pb vs hardcover).
Sorry you had that issue! :(

Hello,I was wondering if anyone else has had similar issues with Ingram:
I just started using Ingram this year and so far, through 3 orders it had been very smooth. However, with my most recent order, I created a list and clicked "Release/Ship." After a week, no order appeared under "Order Status." So I clicked "Release/Ship" again. Still no order after a few days. I emailed customer support and they said there was no order placed for me. I went and clicked "Release/Ship" a third time, and that time it finally went through. That is just the beginning...I am very careful to only order books that have copies on hand or on order with a fairly close expected delivery date. This time was no exception. I ordered a hardcover copy of The Poet X, which was published in March 2018. After ordering, upon checking my order status, I saw that it was backlisted. When clicking the order link next to the book in "Order Status," it takes me to the yet-to-be-published paperback edition that is scheduled to release in January 2020. I went and double-checked my list. When I click on the book that is in my list (which I ordered directly by clicking "Release/Ship,") it takes me to the hardcover book. So I emailed customer service again. They replied by saying that they only see me having ordered the paperback. I tried to explain what happened, as I just did, and they replied again saying that they only ever see me having ordered the paperback! I had to cancel that book because my district will not keep a PO open until January 2020.
Has anyone experience similar issues with Ingram?
I'm considering finding another book supplier...

Thank you,

Alison Kurtz
