K-8 were all given Ipads but 6-8 is the disaster I am currently dealing with ☺

That definitely sounds like a disaster. I'm sorry I don't have a great solution. What grade level(s) are you working with?

We are a 1:1 iPad High School District. Our students keep their iPads, chargers, and cords with them as long as they're enrolled in the District. They take them home each night to use for homework and projects. They charge them at home, but we also have charging stations in each classroom, study hall, and in the library. Our students are also responsible for their devices over the summer. The only students who return items are those who are transferring out of the District. That said, those students rarely still have their chargers and cords and we fine them for those items. We encourage students to mark their blocks and cords with sharpies or tape in a way that they can easily identify them.

Hi,
Our district recently went 1:1 with iPads and it has been a complete disaster as far as collecting cords and cables.

Instead of insisting that all chargers go home, the district gave the kids a choice (oh and did I mention none of it was barcoded or tagged in any way that it was school property) so the kids just took each other’s and now we are trying to collect them (LOL).
I know we are not the first school to roll out 1:1 with iPads. How does your school handle the brick and cord? Are both pieces tagged? Do they all go home? How do they charge them at school?

Thank you! We definitely need some work and since no one else is trying to solve this debacle, I am putting it on myself to solve :☺
Thanks,
Amy
