It is our pleasure to announce the Fall 2019 AISLE Award winners who will
be honored at the Awards Gala during Conference. Please join us in offering

Mary Morgan Ryan
Chief Technology, Communications, and Data Services Official, Northern
Suburban Special Education District
Presented with the AISLE Past-President Pin to recognize her leadership and
service to the organization during her tenure as President.
Joanne Zienty, “Forest School STEM Fair”
Library Media Specialist, Forest Elementary School, Des Plaines
Winner of the AISLE Demco Award recognizing a school library media center’s
achievement in planning and implementing an innovative or creative service
which has a measurable impact on users.
Lisa Kompare
Principal, Mark DeLay Elementary School, Darien
Winner of the AISLE Administrator of the Year Award recognizing the
meritorious support of a school library program by a building or district
level school administrator
Honor Award Recipients
These special honor awards are designed to honor and recognize individuals
for distinguished and exceptional service or contributions to AISLE and/or
the library community. The awards are unique in that they are initiated by
a member of the Board, are highly selective, and given only at the
discretion of the Board.
Becky Robinson
Executive Secretary, Association of Illinois School Library Educators
Recipient of the AISLE Lifetime Membership Award honoring an individual for
faithful and exceptional service to the Association.
Janine Asmus
Librarian, West Leyden High School, Northlake
Recipient of the AISLE School Librarian of the Year Award recognizing
outstanding service and leadership contributions to the organization, the
school library profession or a school library in Illinois during the
previous school calendar year.
Amy Phillips
Librarian, Riverside Brookfield High School, Riverside
Recipient of the AISLE First Page Award recognizing the contributions of a
member within the first five years of membership for service to the
organization and contribution to librarianship in Illinois.
Kori Kubitz, Capstone Press
Recipient of the AISLE Pillar Award recognizing an exhibit vendor for their
continued support of the organization, of school libraries or of school
library professionals.
Dr. Keithy Curry Lance
Recipient of the AISLE Crystal Honor Award recognizing distinguished
support of/or contributions to the school library profession, school
libraries in Illinois, and/or contributions to the Association.
