[aisle] Loaners for students with 1:1 technology

We have iPads in a 1:1 situation. Our Tech Director makes the decision on
loaners. His policy is basically if a student needs it for class, that is
fine but not for just watching YouTube at lunch. Each iPad has an asset
number and is checked out by that number. In the case of problems with a
device such as if it is not working or a cracked screen, the student uses
the loaner until his/hers is fixed locally or comes back from repair. We
have a charging station in the Library Media Center. There is no
consequence for a charge in the Library. With damage to a device, the Tech
Director assesses any fine above the amount not covered by the student's
insurance. Hope that this helps you.
