Here is the email I received this afternoon,

“Ms Sitek asked if I read Blended by Sharon M Draper.  I told her no but I would over the summer.  She teaches 4th grade & thought maybe the content was a little strong.  Not sure if you read it but it deals with racism, & profiling.  The main character in the book gets shot because she reaches for her cell phone & the police thinks she (11 yr old) has a gun.  I thought it was a good book, just not sure if it was 4th & 5th grade material. “
