[aisle] Moving Books for New Carpet

Between new carpet and remodels, I have moved collections three times. For us, renting book carts was cheaper and easier than purchasing boxes. I labeled each cart with a color-coded, numbered label. For example, all fiction carts had a green label, all biographies were yellow, etc. The carts were numbered in the order they were removed from the shelf. I also added the starting and ending call number. I printed each label on a full sheet of copy paper so they were large enough to see from a distance and labeled both ends of the carts. I had volunteers moving the items, so labeling helped keep things organized.

Feel free to contact me with any questions.
