[aisle] Remote ideas

I am doing a #PostcardFieldTrip with my students k-12. I sent emails to
tourism boards across the world and asked for postcards to send my
students. I've had a lot of positive responses. The idea is that I use
these postcards to keep in touch with my students and then we also do
read-alouds and other extension activities about the places from the
postcards. I'm going to do an interactive map to put on my Google Classroom
(or whatever platform my school decides-- we're apparently still working on
that.) And then my read-aloud videos and book talks will feature books
about those states/ countries/ people from there. So that's my library
"curriculum" this year. Easy to do both in school or remote. It's taking a
lot of prep work, but it's the kind of prep work I find to be a lot of fun.
I even got a great map from www.tribalnationsmaps.com that we can look at
together and learn about the Native Nations who lived in our area before us
and they also have maps of where the Nations reside now.
