I have been trying to get something going at the high school level. Publicity on website and word of mouth while teaching classes. Not much interest.

We just had a very successful Battle of the Books with six schools - organized by Niles Maine District Library. It was on Zoom. Questions were posted as polls/and read aloud. Teams then went into breakout rooms for one minute. It was VERY smooth and the kids still loved the excitement of competing. The NMDL School Liaison, Mikey Orzechowski, coordinated it. You could reach out to her for best practices.

We have done it using Google Meet. For us, the thing that helped us the most was numbering the kids, so that everyone turns on their mic when it is their turn then gives their thoughts in order. Makes it quicker.

I am sure that this has been discussed but has anyone done a battle virtually? How have you done it? Any tips on trying to do something?

Thanks
