Dear Illinois School Library Educators:

The AISLE Board has approved a partnership between AISLE and RAILS which
will help school libraries greatly. This partnership is a great advocacy
tool for *all* school librarians in Illinois.

*Please investigate the links here for talking points and strategies for
advocating for your library program!*

RAILS’ My Library Is... campaign will help all school libraries to tell
their story and promote their value more effectively to different
stakeholders (administrators, teachers, colleagues, students, etc.). The
campaign includes a website: mylibraryis.org <https://www.mylibraryis.org/>,
with a special section for schools, information on training (both in
person and online <https://www.aisled.org/#>), talking points, and general
resources and toolkits.

The site also includes a Sharing Showcase
<https://www.mylibraryis.org/showcase/stories?page=1>, where school
libraries can share brief stories on how their library has had a positive
impact on students, teachers, and/or the school in general. RAILS is
looking for more school libraries to share their stories on the
website to create
a <https://www.aisled.org/#> central gathering place of best practices and
information everyone can use when promoting the value of school libraries.
All stories are welcome from all types and sizes of school libraries!

Just visit the Sharing Showcase
<https://www.mylibraryis.org/showcase/stories?page=1> and click on the Add
Your Library Stories link to get started <https://www.aisled.org/#>.

School libraries can also share print materials, videos, social media
posts, and other tools and techniques that have helped them tell their
story. Please take a look at the mylibraryis.org
<https://www.mylibraryis.org/> website, and think of possible stories or
other information you might share. If you have any questions about the My
Library Is… campaign or the website, contact Mary Witt, RAILS
Communications Director, at mary.witt at railslibraries.info.
*Stay tuned for more information on this project, including a push to
gather a list of administrators in Illinois who support school libraries!!!*
