[aisle] narrative non-fiction about slavery

Hello,
I have a 7th grade ELA teacher asking about literary non-fiction books for
student book clubs to go hand in hand with the Civil War social studies
curriculum.
She wants good biographies or memoirs about people who were slaves, or any
other slavery themed non-fiction that will keep a 7th grader engaged.
Any recommendations appreciated!
