Amy,

The IL SCBWI chapter does have a list of authors who do events by region and SCBWI national now offers the Amber Brown Award which is a grant to help pay for school visit events.

The SCBWI-IL initiative is called Read Local and here’s the link for that:

The National Amber Brown Grant:

Subject: [aisle] Looking for an Author

Hello!

Im looking for an Author to visit a school for a Family Reading Event (takes place at night). Is there a list somewhere that I can reference for those authors who are willing to do school visits? I would prefer a local/Illinois author, and it's a Title 1 events so ideally a non-paid gig. It's for a middle school.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Amy
