Here's what mine does:

Library Clerks:

   -

Staff the circulation desk so that someone is “on duty” at all
times--thereby making the library available to students & staff. Without a
clerk, I would recommend locking the doors to avoid losing books/tech, and
   avoiding an unsupervised environment.
   -

Check out books...help students find books to fit their reading level,
interests, and research needs. Person needs a knowledge of the collection
   and the students.
   -

Check in books -- then Reshelve items
   -

Send out overdue notices and billing notices.
   -

Prepare books for the shelves -- apply spine label, barcodes, date due
slips, ownership stamps, and book covering material for each item.
   -

Familiarity with the collection --help students & teachers find what
   they need.
   -

Supervise student behavior in the libraries.
   -

   Deliver requested items to students/staff.
   -

   Answer phones/take messages.
   -

   Make photocopies.
   -

Maintain printer and assist students/staff with its use.
   -

Keep track of where Librarian has left her coffee.

Clerks Tech Duties:

   -

Serve as a “Help Desk” for Chromebook issues.
   -

   Troubleshoot simple Chromebook problems.
   -

Maintain circulation of Chromebooks -- including issuing “loaners”
   -

Keep a log of tech issues and IT requests.

   -

   Password changes (HS)
   -

HS Clerk Additional:

   -

Serve as substitute for HS office secretary.
   -

Studyhall / Online class monitor (these students report to library
   daily.)
