[aisle] Copyright Question

Hello hive mind, can you remind me because I'm always second guessing
myself and what I remember.

Is it EVER okay for a student to photo copy parts of a book? In this case a
teacher is wanting students to photo copy pages from The Road by McCarthy.

I turned the student away but then I start wondering if I'm wrong and the
10% rule applies here?
