Our hourly staff at Lake Forest High School is being told to work on professional development, planning, and other administrative tasks and will be paid as usual, except for our food staff, which we've been told is TBD. We should lobby hard for them to be paid for e-days since the school already has their pay budgeted for the year AND they can be helpful assets as we gain our sea legs in this new learning environment.
Non-certified staff are valuable (and too often financially vulnerable) members of our school communities and it's important that we do right by them!

We have been having this discussion. Our district is treating it like a remote learning/snow day where ESPs have to use a benefit day or can make up the hours later in the year. We were recommending that they be allowed to work because they can easily help out on Google Classroom with the students that they normally serve. They haven’t responded to that specifically so we will just have to see.

Hello All!
In the event of school closure, has anyone had any discussions about payment to non-certified staff/ESPs? For example, library clerks, SPED 1:1, cooks, etc.?
Thanks!
