Hi!

I hope this email finds you healthy.

I am gathering information for my team leader committee and thought
librarians would be the friendliest route. We librarians are helpful by
nature. Thanks in advance for reading and sharing.

My building is 5-8 middle school and we are currently on a block schedule
and looking at ways to improve it. Currently we have our reading and math
interventions during a 30 minute period. Students who are not receiving
interventions are doing other enrichment activities such as a math computer
program, silent reading, Scholastic magazine, etc. We are interested in
hearing when other schools conduct their interventions. Are teachers
conducting the interventions or reading and math specialists? If you do
them school wide what is being done with students who are not receiving
interventions?

We also have an advisory at the end of the day where social/emotional
standards are covered. Does your school have this? If no, where are the
SEL standards being addressed.

Also, how is your ELA being taught? Are composition and reading combined?
How many minutes of instruction are designated to reading? Writing?

Again, thanks so much for reading and sharing. Have a great day!

Deanne

"The truth is-the whole truth is-that it's not the last day that matters
most. It's the ones in between, the ones you get the chance to look back
on. There the carnation days. They may not stand out the most at first,
but they stay with you the longest." Quote from *Ms. Bixby's Last Da*y by
