Along with other advocacy tools, AASL published a school librarian’s job description last week. It may be useful to you in thinking about building-level responsibilities.

The National Library Standards for Learners, School Librarians, and School Libraries (AASL 2018) has a School Library Evaluation Checklist for both building-level librarians and district-level supervisors. It’s on pages 174 -180.

I am updating my job description for District Library Media Specialist. I thought there was one to reference in the Linking for Learning but not finding it in the 4th Edition. I know many job responsibilities vary, but if you have one that encompasses both certified HS library responsibilities as well as district librarian responsibilities and are willing to share, please email me off list.
