[aisle] IL Book Award Question

As a former Bluestem committee person, I can tell you that the fee goes to help us facilitate our annual meeting, and our board meeting. At least part of it. Every year the 50+ readers and committee persons meet in person to put together the Next year’s list of 20 nominees. We give a continental breakfast, beverages and a lunch to all who attend. Some travel great distances to take part in this meeting.
Then there are administrative costs, printing, mailing and such.
It’s a nominal fee, and for it you get an awesome list of books, and fantastic resources provided through our website.

Good Morning! I've been a teacher-librarian in Iowa for the last 10 years and we also have state award books that we promote and students vote on around spring break time but we don't have to pay a fee in order for our schools to participate. Just curious as to what the $10 fee covers for your school to participate? I can't find any information on that specifically.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Apra
