What about using that space for a yearly Lincoln Award display.  Print the book covers in 8.5x11 and arrange.  Add QR codes to take students to trailers and reviews.  Add a poster about the program: dates, requirements, prizes?, ability to nominate or be on the committee.Once the winner is announced you can highlight that cover and even put the number of votes that each book received on each cover. That's a once a year change.

Hi all,

My library was remodeled in 2016 and the display area inside the front doors has been driving me crazy ever since. There was originally supposed to be some graphic or artwork there, so I didn’t plan for it to be blank space, but the budget for graphics was spent elsewhere. I do need the space to display books as there isn’t another area in the library to do so, so I don’t want art or a mural. I also really don’t want a bulletin board because they never turn out how I want them to and take me three times as long to decorate as I have patience for even with my trusty Cricut and Canva to help me.J

I had been using clear command hooks and painters tape to display signs and banners temporarily, but when we went on lockdown in March, the display stayed up until August and now all of the hooks still up are going to pull paint off. Our amazing custodians have forgiven me and will do the repairs/repainting whenever I tell them to, but I need to come up with a better solution for the future. I’m willing to spend a few hundred dollars for a permanent solution. I was think about a slat wall because we could use it to display artwork or small industrial tech projects occasionally, too, and wouldn’t need as much decorating as a bulletin board, but can’t find something I’m super crazy about. Does anyone have any creative ideas for me?

I’ve attached a picture for reference. Please feel free to laugh at the only thing I’ve had time to throw up there for decoration this year that somehow just makes the whole wall look even more bare (even though the banner itself is cute).

Thanks!
