I am in the process of ordering books for my middle school library. In the past, I have ordered some of our books specifically for displays. For example, one of the most popular book displays was a springtime “Camping Out” display. I specifically ordered and displayed several nonfiction books about camping and survival skills, fiction books with camping themes, ghost story books and nonfiction books about ghosts. I also ordered a cookbook for camping out. I suggested that students ask friends over, put up a tent or use blankets to make one, gather some snacks, grab some scary books from the display and take turns reading them. Students loved it!

This year, under the remote model, I am ordering quite a few ebooks. I am going to use Google Slides to make “virtual" ebook displays such as the Camping theme display (probably using Bitmojis) that will pair fiction with nonfiction books. Kids need a little “push” to get them reading so I was wondering if anyone had a display theme such as the Camping theme that has been a success in your library that you would want to share? Thanks.
