[aisle] Epic

If teachers have their own epic account with their student roster added and accessed by their students, could  I add the same students to my account and assign books to them? Meaning, could I assign books to them and they would be accessed in their teacher account? I don’t want kids to have to access two separate Epic accounts. Does that make sense?

Cathy and Todd,

I’m from a small school, but I currently have 163 students in my account. In the MY STUDENTS tab, next to the add student button is a button that says “create group”. You can create as many groups as you want. I have students by homeroom K-5 and by grade for 6-8. That way I can assign Chicago books to just third grade when they do their Chicago unit, and Fall books to everyone, whatever fits your needs.

Just to throw out there one more great thing about EPIC in case you don’t know this, but you can click the SHARE button on a book and get a link to a specific book. Then you can post that link for all students to access a book remotely or hyperlink the book in a document or LMS.

I'd love to know how to set up all my classes under one account too. Or at least all grade levels under one grade level class.

Thanks,

Hi. Robin, could you explain how you setup the whole schoole with your account under their homeroom teachers? When I tried to add more than 100 students in my account I wasn’t able to. Epic told me that each teacher needed to set up their own account with separate class codes in order for all 850 students to have access.

I would love some guidance on this. Epic is a terrific resource with thousands of books and short videos.

I’m looking forward to your reply.

That’s great!! Our teachers all have their own accounts but I could do what you described above under my own account so I can reach all students, correct?

Yes, I have the whole school under my account. I have each class under their homeroom teacher so I can send them collections related to curriculum. I can also

send the whole school collections related to holidays, seasons, etc. I also have the teachers in their class so they can project books. I have the password a generic school password so teachers can log in and see student data or assign books as well.

Good morning! Does anyone know if you can have multiple class rosters in epic under one sign in code. I was originally going to use it for my whole school and download my students through Google classroom.

Now I find out that first grade teachers have already set up individual accts so they can track progress each day. I just want to use as an ebook resource. My idea is to have classes set up for kind., 2/3, 4, 5/6 and 7/8 siging up with

my classcode. Any thoughts be would be appreciated.

Thanks !
