[aisle] Sora/Overdrive -- Public Library Connect

Good afternoon,

I'm writing today to ask users out there about your use of Sora (Overdrive)
to connect to your local public library's collection of ebooks and
audiobooks through the Public Library Connect program from Overdrive. This
program allows my students in the entire school district to use our school
district's Google login credentials to login to the public library to check
out ebook/audiobook materials. It has been a fantastic joint venture
between our area public library and our school district increasing access
for our students. It is a free program for both the public library and our
school district, though the burden for purchasing digital titles remains
with the public library since it is their collection.

Here's my problem: our public library has two Overdrive collections -- one
solely for users of the public library and one collection as a part of a
consortium. We've made the Public Library Connect program work with the
local Overdrive collection but *not* the consortium collection. In other
words, my students can use their school district credentials (Google SSO)
to login and check out our local public library Overdrive materials but not
the consortium materials. The consortium materials, at this point, require
their public library card credentials.

Has anyone made the Public Library Connect program work with Overdrive
consortium collections? Using their school district login credentials? If
so, how? Our public library's Overdrive consortium is Digital Library of
Illinois. I cannot find any information out there about contacting
individuals associated with Digital Library of Illinois and how to make
this collaboration work. The consortium collection has so much more
material in it and as my students are members of a members library of the
consortium, it would be incredible if students could login in a simple
fashion -- their school credentials.

Thank you!
Sincerely,
Naomi Mellendorf
