I created a google form for requests. I then added scripts to the spreadsheet it creates to have it send me an email with the request. I then cut and paste the request into another email to let the students know when the books will be ready. I also put printout of the request on the exterior of the bag and attach it to the exterior of the bag.

I print the hold notices. I sort by grade and check the box that says Homeroom.
I put the hold notice in the book so the students name, grade and homeroom show. It makes it much easier for me to pull because all of the books the student requested are on one piece of paper.

Is anyone else out there managing pulling holds in Destiny for hundreds of kids who are in person as well as remote learners? This is all new to me and I'm in up to my eyeballs. I wish I could pull hold reports based on classroom but it doesn't seem possible. I'm glad kids are using this new function - but I cannot figure out how to sort it out. On my holds list I only have title, item # and student name - and have to go back into their record to figure out which teacher they have. I'm thinking of adding something to the name fields of remote learners so I can see them quickly on my reports (RL or something like that).
Anyone who has experience doing this - I would love some work flow pointers!

I placed a box for book returns in the vestibule of our main entrance. The outer doors are always unlocked. Teachers leave things here for students to pick up/drop off, as well the main office. I'm also placing recreational books for remote students there for them to pick up.

Many have mentioned having a drop box for returns, are you using a bin inside the school entrance where parents must be buzzed in? I was looking into something outside that parents would have access to after hours but outdoor drop boxes are expensive.
