One title I’m going to use for sure is A Life Made by Hand - The Story of Ruth Asawa by Andrea D’Aquino. It has great back matter and a make your own paper dragonfly activity.

As for recent Monarch nominees, several that come to mind are: Big Mooncake for Little Star by Grace Lin, Drawn Together by Minh Le, illus. by Dan Santat, After the Fall by Dan Santat, Adventures of Beekle by Dan Santat, and Goldy Luck and the Three Pandas by Natasha Yim, illus. by Grace Zong.

Hi everyone!

What books or activities are you planning for May? Also, does anyone know which Monarch books over the past 5 years were written or illustrated by APAs? I know it's a huge monolith that doesn't cover all the amazing diversity, but I want to improve my collection and curriculum. I will also start collecting/researching, but thought I'd ask our amazing group!
