[aisle] Autocorrect

Hi!

One idea would be to have them write - physically! Not on their computers
but just with a paper and a pencil/pen. :) Sometimes it is fun to have them
write a story collectively - say at one table. And have them all start with
the same sentence and then they each get to add one more sentence. And even
then pass the papers to the next table - this was pre Covid, so you
couldn't have them share papers right now.

Sometimes just giving them a challenge makes all the difference. I remember
once I said I wanted to see who could write the most in 10 minutes - me or
the students. They took up the challenge! Maybe pick something they all
have to describe and write about and then have it morph into something
else, like a transformer.

I think so many of our students just don't "wonder" about things. I'll ask
kids "what do you like to do" and the answer is nothing. Hard to work with
that, so I think some direction in the beginning is helpful, but then you
have to have a way to turn them loose, so they can be creative.

Good luck! If you hit on something that works, please share!
