[aisle] code.org through distance learning or an alternative

You can go to studio.code.org and enroll students in levels that they can independently work through. I have kindergarten through 4th graders working in this. For the young ones or beginners we work through a few in our own then they go to work. Yes, there is frustration, but I am able to walk them through and I can see right where they are on my dashboard. This integrates with Google classroom or you can sign them up, no email needed. And-it’s all free!!

Before joining my Zoom, I ask the families to be logged in to code.org. I have the families join through Clever, which works great but is not an option for everyone. Logging in is always the hardest part.

I see there are some adaptations they list, but so far nothing is jumping out at me as feasible yet. Is there a better alternative for these circumstances or should I just put the idea aside until in person instruction is fully happening again? (hybrid still) By the way, did I mention coding is still something i'm striving to understand better? Thanks for all input!
