[aisle] Humorous children's books/authors

I would highly recommend Dav Pilkey's Cat Kid's Comic Club. It is a
hilarious, insightful look at some serious topics -- reading choice,
censorship, perseverance, how kids think, and how we adults often respond
to kids' thinking. If you want to read a work by an author that many kids
love to read, and one that will comment on issues we care about as
library professionals, this one is worth your time.

Yes, I am BIG Dav Pilkey fan (I have met him personally, hosted him at my
school, and having spent one day with him, I think he is one of the world's
best human beings.)

"The simplest way to make sure that we raise literate children is to teach
them to read, and to show them that reading is a pleasurable activity. And
that means, at its simplest, finding books that they enjoy, giving them
