Dear AISLE Members--

Some background information--AISLE is working with ILA to get information
about school libraries in front of legislators. There are a series of
Legislative Meet-Ups that are going on during February and early March. Due
to COVID-19, they are being held virtually. Information about the Meet Ups
was on the list earlier in January.

Brian Chase, the director of the Normal Public Library, is in charge of the
meet-up for Central Illinois library advocates and legislators. He would
like input from school librarians to inform legislators about what is
happening in school libraries during these trying times. *If you are
working in a Central Illinois School District*, please respond directly to
Brian with your library story.

This has a tight timeline and he is requesting input sent to him no later
than this Thursday, February 18.

Please answer directly to Brian . You will find his email below.

If you have any questions you can ask Brian directly or contact me.

Thank you for all you do for our students.

Attendees of the upcoming Central Illinois Library Legislative (Zoom)
Meet-up:

To provide our legislators a snapshot of what central IIlinois libraries
have accomplished during COVID, we are creating a brief (1-2 minute)
slideshow to demonstrate the impact we've had on our local communities.
This presentation will be shared during the upcoming Central Illinois
Library Legislative (Zoom) Meet-up.

To accomplish this, we are requesting your assistance. Please answer the
following questions, and if you'd like, attach any photos, screenshots, or
patron comments that would be valuable content for the slideshow.
*Please reply
with this input no later than Thursday, February 18.* (Please reply
directly to me, and do not "reply all.")

-Approximately how many:

· virtual programs did you provide your community in 2020?

· items did you deliver curbside / how many curbside appointments
completed?

· items did you deliver via home delivery?

-Of the new services, programs or collections you developed for the unique
challenges of 2020, which had the greatest impact on your respective
community?

-Anything else you would like to share?

Thank you!

Brian Chase, Director (Co-Coordinator, Central Illinois Library Legislative
Meet-up)
