The following two zoom workshops are being offered this month.  The cost of
each workshop is $10.00 for AISLE members and $15.00 for non-members.  One
Professional Development Hour will be available for each workshop.
Registration for each workshop will close 24 hours prior to the event.



January 12, 7-8 pm

*Virtual Book Club and Battle of the books*

Presented by Amy Stefanski <astefanski at dunlapcusd.net>, Betsy Yager
<byager at d23.org>, and Linda Sawyer <lindasawyer at sfx-school.org>    1 PDH



This seminar is for everyone who has been thinking about hosting virtual
Book Clubs and Battle of the Books. Hear multiple practicing school
librarians explain how they have organized and interacted with students and
adults in a virtual environment. Find out the successes and pitfalls!



January 19, 7-8 pm

*Booktalking Nonfiction*

Presented by Jennifer Bromann-Bender <jbromann-bender at lw210.org>    1PDH

The truth is often more amazing than we can imagine. The author of
Booktalking Nonfiction: 200 Surefire Winners for Middle and High School
Readers will share more books published for young adults and adults that
will make teenagers want to read and learn. Sample booktalks, alternative
ideas for promoting books, and ideas for finding books that appeal to teens
will be offered.
