Given the times we're living in, I thought The Hate You Give

inspires critical conversations about racism, socioeconomics, education,
poetry (Tupac Shakur) etc.

Also, I thought Meg Medina's Yaqui DelGado Wants to Kick Your Ass

has the potential for critical conversations about bullying: psychological,
verbal, physical; socioeconomics & education, poverty & incarceration,
objectification of women; the main character 'hiding' her intelligence
because she's afraid of becoming a target of bullying.
