I love Field Guide. You might also try Becky Albertalli's Yes, No, Maybe So
or Grendel's Guide to Love and War by A E Kaplan. Also, while it does deal
with murder, what about something more mystery like One of Us is Lying by
Karen McManus (just a different vibe).
