Yes.  Each of the awards committees attempts to contact every author,
illustrator, and publisher before the lists are released.
Sometimes we get a response from any of the above, sometimes there is no
response.
Remember that you do not have to provide all 20 titles, and that some of
the titles might already be on Library or classroom shelves, or even owned
by students.
