I also loved the Capstone offerings last year, and wish we could
purchase that bundle rather than individual titles.

I keep a running spreadsheet of what we subscribe to, how much it costs,
along with what our local public library offers.

We encourage our students to get a public library card and if they cannot,
we have a school card that we can share with them. In 3rd grade we do a BIG
library card push and have the students sign in online with their new cards
(or their parents, or the school card) to utilize the PL online offerings.
Our students do a communities project, and come from a variety of different
suburbs, so we use that project and the PL to get community history and get
used to using the public library website. We also bookmark it and it
becomes a "free time" choice. Super fun to see the kids choose the public
library site over abcya or recess.com etc. This did take some backend work
where I set up the school cards, understood the PL offerings, and how it
could fit into our curriculum. Maybe reach out to CPL? Or your local CPL
branch children's librarian? Happy to help if you want a thought partner!

Hope this helps!
