Dear AISLE colleagues,

As you are probably aware, there are currently over 80 anti-trans bills in
states across this country, threatening children's physical and
psychological safety. Access to life-changing and affirming healthcare and
supports are on the line.

Please consider signing this letter
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeW0ACRDL9aHL4t6oI5zAzJVN7QrsdLuipLKs7Ji56zP2olKA/viewform>from
educators in support of trans youth. Support groups like TransLifeline
<http://TransLifeline.> and Intransitive <https://www.intransitive.org>. If
you're on social media and use it to stay informed on social justice issues
and law-related updates, I recommend following @chasestrangio.

Please support your students
<https://www.glsen.org/supporting-trans-and-gnc-students> (and everyone!)
by affirming who they are and advocating for their rights, resources, and
respect. This includes self-reflection and interrogation of daily practices
as well as collection development policies. As Dr. Rudine Sims Bishop
reminds us, all children deserve "windows, mirrors, & sliding glass doors."

Tomorrow, March 31, is Trans Day of Visibility. As TSER
<https://transstudent.org/gender/> reminds us:
"TDOV is a day to show your support for the trans community. It aims to
bring attention to the accomplishments of trans people around the globe
while fighting cissexism and transphobia by spreading knowledge of the
trans community."

I'll be reading *Sylvia and Marsha Start a Revolution*
<https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/50435590-sylvia-and-marsha-start-a-revolution>.
Does anyone else have books, programming ideas, or resources they would
like to share? I would love to see them!

Best,
Elisa
