[aisle] American Dream Biography & Memoir Project (HS)

Good morning!

One of my English teachers is trying to get ahead of planning for next year
and we are collaborating on a biography and memoir project for her juniors
in American Lit. I have a list that I used this past year, but I have many
outdated biographies and am looking to update it with titles that any high
school student (no matter ability level or format--so some that are adapted
for young adults all the way to written for adults) would be able to enjoy.
What are some of your go-tos that are a bit out of the ordinary? What do
your students LOVE, even your readers who refuse to read even assigned
reading?
