With the recent post about Read-a-Thons, it dawned on me that I haven't
invited all of you! This is a technology infused read-a-thon, just for
fun...not for profit!

This is an official invitation for the students in your schools to
participate in our 2021 version of
the Global Student Read-a-Thon on Twitter. We will be hosting this
live Twitter reading event from @GlobalReadAThon on Friday, December 10th
starting at 7:30am cst. Please feel free to join us for any part of your
day! We welcome all readers and tweeters!

Sign up to participate here -

As in the past, I will be posting reading challenges on Twitter at
@globalreadathon for your students to formulate responses in regards to
what they are reading. Each student can be reading a different book. That's
what makes this FUN!

We will be using the hashtag #gsrat21 which stands
for Global Student Read-A-Thon 2021.

Please feel free to share the event with others -

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Also take a look
at the video that Plymouth Schools made following our Winter 2016 event!

If you would like to utilize Google Resources to make this event easier for
you to monitor, you could absolutely have students formulate tweets in a
shared Google Doc for you to post from a classroom account. Everyone has
their own way of handling this event, whether you give kids their own
access...or share a login, it is a perfect way to model appropriate social
media use in an educational way!
