Sorry you are going through this. I had a similar experience with a book in
my middle school library last year.  I contacted the ALA's Office of
Intellectual Freedom; specifically, Kristen Pekoll, the assistant
director.  She was great at offering support for my particular text that I
then showed to my principal, director of curriculum and ultimately, the
parent.  Needless to say, this parent wasn't interested...
