[aisle] Reaching Out to the Far Corners of Your School

Conference Publicity (South) AISLE conprsouth at aisled.org
Fri Oct 29 06:30:00 CDT 2021

It can often be difficult to find your place as a Media Specialist in the
school and classroom. Our ever changing world has made this more difficult
than ever. As we return to school and more normal routines we have a
chance to reintroduce ourselves and what we can offer to teachers and
students. Recent shifts in teaching methods have given us options to expand
our support of the curriculum, the teachers, and the students. The pandemic
has been difficult, but it has also given us a chance to change the way we
do things and forced us to be creative in our offerings. We will share
resources on how to reconnect with your staff and students. In person and
digital options for reaching out will be discussed. The resources, ideas,
and tips we will offer will help librarians find better connections with
the students and staff in their buildings. We will share the ways we strive
to be more thoughtful and resourceful librarians in our schools. Join Suzanne
Hegeman, Media Specialist, Carl Sandburg High School, Orland Park; Laura
Begani, Media Specialist, Stagg High School, Palos Hills as they talk about
Reaching out to the far corners of the school in their Monday concurrent
session.
