Most years my library helpers were a combination of useful and "they need
this" kiddos. If you are looking for the second group talk to the teachers,
social workers or whoever knows the needs. I've had 1) help in the library
as a behavioral incentive, 2) kids who needed a quiet or calm atmosphere 3)
kids who need social interaction in a very non stress situation 4) kids who
needed confidence building 5) etc. Were they always great workers? No but
it was worth it. My helpers only came during open periods so I was able to
be very hands on with them.
